Measuring & Ordering?
How do I measure my wall?
Measuring is easy, just measure the widest and highest points of the wall, ignoring any objects or slopes. Always add 5-10 cm / 2-4 inches to both your width and height to accommodate uneven walls.

What if my wall is an unusual shape?
Even if the shape of your wall is particularly unusual such as a vaulted wall, still just measure the highest and widest points of your wall. All of our murals are produced square or rectangle so the excess will be trimmed off.

What if I'm wallpapering multiple walls?
If you're wallpapering multiple walls, measure the widest and highest points of each wall individually and then combine them to make one width and one height measurement.

Can I wallpaper my ceiling?
All of our murals are perfectly suitable for both walls and ceilings, just ensure the ceiling is smooth, clean and structurally sound.

What if the mural design doesn't fit well with my wall dimensions?
Our online customising tool lets you select the exact part of the image you want for your wall mural. If you're still not quite happy with how your chosen design looks with your wall dimensions, get in touch and we may be able to adjust it manually. Free of charge, of course.
What's the minimum order size?
There is no minimum order size on our murals.
Can I create a custom design?
Yes, we offer free customisation on all of our murals. Whether this be a colour change, adding an inspirational quote or logo. If we can do it for you, we will!
Can I wallpaper my own image?
Yes, if you have a high resolution photo on a digital camera or an illustration you've created on your PC, we can create a mural from it! Check out our guidance
here. You'll find information on how to do it, minimum quality of image and what can and can't be printed. As always, there is no extra cost for this service.

How do I prepare my wall?
It is important to ensure the wall is smooth, clean, structurally sound. Check out the preparation section of our

How do I install my wallpaper mural?
The installation method is standard butt-join, whereby the panels are placed edge to edge using paste-the-wall wallpaper paste.

installation guide makes it easy and fun to do!
Can I install my wallpaper mural myself?
Of course. Although it'll be a bit quicker and more fun with a friend!
What wallpaper paste should I use?
Our murals are made from non-woven wallpaper, therefore the most suitable wallpaper paste is 'paste the wall' / 'non-woven' wallpaper paste. There are some generic wallpaper pastes that will be perfectly fine, just make sure it says it's suitable for non-woven wallpaper.
Can I install my wallpaper mural in my bathroom?
Yes. As our wallpaper is breathable, it helps to prevent damp, mildew and mould. Making it ideal for washrooms, ventilated bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. Poorly ventilated rooms with very high humidity are not ideal.
Can I install my wallpaper outside?
Our wallpaper is not suitable for outdoor installation.

What is the quality of the wallpaper?
Our PVC Free FSC Mix Credit non-woven wallpaper is smooth, wipeable and extremely durable. It boasts an ultra matte, scratch and light fade-resistant finish so you can be sure you're getting the highest quality wallpaper.
Is the wallpaper environmentally friendly?
Our wallpaper is produced from sustainable FSC Certified forests and is completely PVC free. The ink is Greenguard Gold Certified, meaning it's odourless and free of harmful chemicals.
All of our wallpaper murals are made to order, meaning we only produce what's needed, radically reducing waste compared to traditional wallpaper distribution.
All of our packaging is completely recyclable, plastic free and we plant one tree with every single order through our partner, Ecologi.
Does the wallpaper contain any harmful chemicals?
No! Our wallpaper is PVC free and we only use Greenguard Gold Certified UVgel ink, meaning they do not emit hazardous HAPS (Hazardous Air Pollutants) or VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Therefore, our wallpaper is perfectly safe for installation in nurseries.
Can I order samples?
We prefer not to send physical samples to reduce emissions, however we understand sometimes they're needed.

Is the wallpaper suitable for commercial spaces?
Our non-woven wallpaper is suitable for domestic and low-traffic commercial projects.
We offer all of our murals on various commercial grade materials, get in touch through our
commercial page if you're looking for something more durable than our non-woven wallpaper.
Is the wallpaper fire certified?
Our non-woven wallpaper is fire rated to the rigorous European standard - EN 13501-1: B-s1, d0.
Shipping & Delivery Information
Do you ship worldwide?
We're sorry but we currently only ship to the UK. Watch this space, worldwide delivery coming soon!
I need my wallpaper as soon as possible, can I order express?
Our murals typically arrive within 3-5 working days and all of our shipments are sent on an express delivery service. However, if you need your wallpaper delivered faster than the usual lead time, get in touch at hello@novelwalls.com with your requirements and we'll be able to let you know if we can meet your deadline.
How long does delivery take?
Typical delivery from the payment is 3-5 working days. This includes production and shipping.
How much does shipping cost?
Delivery is free for all orders, not matter what size!
Can I change the delivery address after I've paid?
If we haven't dispatched the order, we will be able to change the delivery address. Just send the updated delivery address along with your order number to hello@novelwalls.com. If the order has been dispatched, you still may be able to change the delivery address directly with the courier when you receive their confirmation email / text.
Can I track my order?
Yes, you can track and change your order through the courier's email / text service. The amount of tracking and changing may be limited by your order status and courier.
How will my wallpaper arrive?
Your wallpaper will arrive as a roll in our durable eco friendly packaging with the installation guide printed at the top of the roll. This may be multiple boxes depending on the size of your order.
Each panel is printed at 94cm / 37 in wide. Wider than traditional wallpaper so that there are less joins and the install is faster.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return and recieve a refund for my order?
If your order has been shipped and there is an issue deemed to be caused or within the control of Novel Walls, we will happily offer a full refund or free reprint.
We're proud to offer our Happiness Guarantee. Unlike many other made-to-measure wall mural companies, we will offer a free reprint or refund if you're not completely happy! Simply get in touch and we'll organise the return.

Can I cancel my order?
If you want to cancel your order, please contact us as soon as possible as all of our murals are made-to-order.

What do I do if I have a problem with my order?
Imperfections are rare but it's important to always check your wallpaper mural prior to installation. If you notice any issues, do not install your wallpaper as we cannot compensate installation by yourself or a third party installer.

What payment options are there?
We offer numerous safe and secure options for payment; Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express, PayPal Discover, Diners Club, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
Can I change my order after payment?
All of our wall murals are 'made-to-measure', therefore if we've printed your order then we cannot change or refund your order. If we haven't printed your order then we'll be happy to change your order however you like, whether it be the design or dimensions.

What do I do if I had a problem during payment?
